About shortl.ee
Why we do this
AI news summaries on large platforms are often shallow, inaccurate, and full of errors. They rarely link to sources, ignore local context, and treat complex regional stories as generic foreign news. shortl.ee is an attempt to do better. Yes, we use AI too, but we review results, respect local publishers, and try to give readers a broad selection of sources.
The goal is simple: help local media reach readers abroad without losing accuracy. AI is here to stay. Better to use it alongside journalism than instead of it.
How It Works
Our AI system monitors public RSS feeds, official announcements, and press releases. Each day, it compiles a selection of what matters most. For each region, we also track international coverage — how local events are reported globally.
Each summary includes links to related coverage so you can explore further. Not all referenced materials are used to produce summaries. We prioritize public and official sources. Listed articles represent related media coverage that is semantically close to the topic. Note: occasionally an unrelated article may slip in — we work to fix these promptly.
We never use editorial or paywalled content beyond publicly available headline. Paywalled articles may appear in references as related coverage, but our summaries are built from openly available information.
Read the original
AI summaries are not a replacement for journalism. Every article in the list represents work done by a newsroom.
If a story matters to you, read the original. You get the full picture and support local media.
Quality
The feed is fully automated, but we review all published materials and fix errors as they appear. Spotted a problem? Give us a moment. The system keeps improving and gets more accurate over time.
